High Temperature Corrosion [>400°F (204°C)] (उच्च तापमान क्षरण)

4.4.1 Oxidation (ऑक्सीकरण)

4.4.1.1 Description of Damage

4.4.1.2 Affected Materials

a) सभी iron based materials प्रभावित होते हैं, जिनमें carbon steel और low alloy steels (cast और wrought दोनों शामिल हैं)।

4.4.1.3 Critical Factors

a) High temperature oxidation

4.4.1.4 Affected Units or Equipment

4.4.1.5 Appearance or Morphology of Damage

4.4.1.6 Prevention / Mitigation

a) Oxidation resistance बढ़ाने का सबसे effective तरीका है more resistant alloy का उपयोग करना।

4.4.1.7 Inspection and Monitoring

a) High temperature equipment

4.4.1.8 Related Mechanisms

Graphitic Corrosion (ग्राफिटिक कॉरोजन)

4.3.12 Graphitic Corrosion (ग्राफिटिक कॉरोजन)

4.3.12.1 Description of Damage

4.3.12.2 Affected Materials

4.3.12.3 Critical Factors

इसे प्रभावित करने वाले factors में alloy composition और exposure conditions शामिल हैं जैसे temperature, degree of aeration, pH और exposure time।

4.3.12.4 Affected Units or Equipment

Graphitic corrosion soft water, salt water, mine waters, dilute acids और under ground piping में हो सकता है।

4.3.12.5 Appearance or Morphology of Damage

4.3.12.6 Prevention / Mitigation

a) UT (Ultrasonic Testing)

b) Acoustic techniques जैसे “loss of metallic ring” और ultrasonic attenuation लागू हो सकते हैं।

4.3.12.7 Inspection and Monitoring

4.3.12.8 Related Mechanisms

Dealloying (डी-अलॉयिंग)

4.3.11 De alloying (डी-अलॉयिंग)

4.3.11.1 Description of Damage

4.3.11.2 Affected Materials

4.3.11.3 Critical Factors

a) De alloying को प्रभावित करने वाले factors में alloy की composition और exposure conditions शामिल हैं, जैसे temperature, degree of aeration, pH और exposure time।

4.3.11.4 Affected Units or Equipment

a) Underground cast iron piping

d) Boiler feed water piping systems और after boiler components में de alloying हो सकता है, जिसमें bronze pumps, मोनेल strainers और brass pressure gauge fittings शामिल हैं।

4.3.11.5 Appearance or Morphology of Damage

4.3.11.6 Prevention / Mitigation

4.3.11.7 Inspection and Monitoring

4.3.11.8 Related Mechanisms

Caustic Corrosion

4.3.10 Caustic Corrosion

4.3.10.1 Description of Damage

4.3.10.2 Affected Materials

4.3.10.3 Critical Factors

a) Process streams में neutralization या reaction के लिए caustic का intentional addition।

f) Departure from DNB (Departure from न्यूक्लिएट Boiling), evaporation और deposition के कारण caustic locally concentrate हो सकता है।

4.3.10.4 Affected Units or Equipment

4.3.10.5 Appearance or Morphology of Damage

4.3.10.6 Prevention / Mitigation

4.3.10.7 Inspection and Monitoring

Soil Corrosion

4.3.9 Soil Corrosion

4.3.9.1 Description of Damage

4.3.9.2 Affected Materials

4.3.9.3 Critical Factors

4.3.9.4 Affected Units or Equipment

4.3.9.5 Appearance or Morphology of Damage

4.3.9.6 Prevention / Mitigation

4.3.9.7 Inspection and Monitoring

4.3.9.8 Related Mechanisms Soil corrosion closely related है Galvanic Corrosion (see 4.3.1) से।

Microbiologically Induced Corrosion (MIC)

AI Blog Reader

Microbiologically Induced Corrosion (MIC)

4.3.8.1 Description of Damage

4.3.8.2 Affected Materials

4.3.8.3 Critical Factors

4.3.8.4 Affected Units or Equipment

4.3.8.5 Appearance or Morphology of Damage

4.3.8.6 Prevention / Mitigation

4.3.8.7 Inspection and Monitoring

4.3.9.8 Related Mechanisms MIC का सबसे closely related mechanism है Cooling Water Corrosion (see 4.3.4)।
